INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SERVICES

LANDING SERVICE

After landing aboard,NTSC provides landing services to international students. The objective of this service is to make the students feel at home, and to help them get familiar with the nearby environment, including the Toronto transportation system(TTC), shopping areas and entertainment areas. By getting involved in the service, students may not feel lonely for their first time in Canada, which is also positive to their further study and life.

The landing service includes:

  • Airport pickup
  • Help to open bank account
  • Get medical insurance and other services
  • Open local SIM phone card/International phone card
  • Arrange a home stay
  • Basic requirement shopping
  • Well known the living location environment

GUARDIANSHIP SERVICE

Minor students who come to Canada to study and who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, must be cared for by a responsible adult in Canada. Parents are the natural guardians for their child.  The responsible adults make decisions about the child’s education, support and maintenance. A person appointed as guardian must be suitable and qualified and is usually a close adult relative willing to serve. NTSC provides a comprehensive guardianship service for minor international students. The objective of the service is to support and provide a safe secure environment for international students who wish the opportunity to experience the Canadian culture and education.

The guardianship service includes:

  • Accompany the student on the first day of school, introducing them to the Dean of the school and making sure that they are properly welcomed.
  • Assist the student with choosing the best method of transportation to and from the school.
  • Maintain contact with the school, monitor the students progress while in school and maintain contact with parents by telephone or email.
  • Represent the student as a neutral party should there be any problems between student, teacher or Dean.
  • Act as the parents representative with the school’s Dean of international studies.
  • Regularly visit student’s school and homestay to ensure your child is safe and is having an enjoyable time while in school.
  • Attend the school parent/teacher interviews and communicate to parents on student’s strengths or weakness.
  • In the event of an emergency situation we are always available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
  • Arrange for health insurance at the student’s parents request. Medical insurance cover is strongly recommended.
  • Give advise and assist the student in any financial decision they may require.
  • Assist the student in all travel arrangements that is required.
  • Arrange for extra tutoring that might be needed at student’s request. This would be an additional cost to the student.
  • Safekeeping of important documents and reserve funds.
  • Always available to the students parents with respect to any questions or concerns.
  • Arrange accommodation for visiting parents or closest relative members.

HOMESTAY SERVICE

  • Arrange  homestay for students or assist them in changing a homestay.
  • Assist students with problems that they may encounter in the homestay.
  • Pay a visit to a homestay monthly for getting the feedback of the student, and report information to parents.
